President Joe Biden and First Lady Jill Biden narrowly escaped injury on Sunday night when a car crashed into an SUV that was shielding their motorcade as they were leaving a campaign headquarters in Delaware. The incident occurred just after 8 p.m. as the Bidens were exiting the Biden-Harris 2024 headquarters. Reporters heard a loud bang and saw President Biden with a surprised expression on his face. The Secret Service quickly cornered the sedan and pulled their weapons on the driver, who held up his hands while the press was escorted back to their van. President Biden was able to get into his vehicle and the motorcade left the scene and arrived back at his residence within 11 minutes. No other details about the incident were immediately available, and the Secret Service did not immediately respond to a request for comment. Thankfully, the President and First Lady were not injured in the security breach.
