Several People Still Unaccounted for After Fire and Shooting in Pennsylvania

Multiple people, including children, are unaccounted for following a house fire and shooting that injured two police officers in a suburban Philadelphia home. The incident began with a 911 call reporting that an 11-year-old girl had been shot, and when officers arrived at the scene, they came under gunfire from the property. Two officers were injured, with one shot in the arm and the other in the leg. The three-story house was then set on fire by an individual inside, and large flames gutted the structure.

The district attorney stated that six to eight people, including children, are unaccounted for, and there is a fear that they may have been inside the house when it was burned. Authorities have locked down the scene, and firefighters are working to extinguish the fire for further investigation.

As of Wednesday evening, the fire had smoldered, and smoke was still rising from the wreckage as firefighters worked the scene. The conditions of the individuals who may have been inside the home, including the wounded child, were not immediately known. The person who fired at the officers and their whereabouts were also unclear, but authorities stated that there were no current threats to the community from that house.

The district attorney emphasized that they don’t know who was in the house, the identity of the shooter, the status of the people inside, or even if they are alive. Authorities plan to search the home once the fire is cleared on Thursday.

The entire block was evacuated, and there were no immediate updates on the conditions of those involved in the incident. More information is expected to come as the situation develops.
