Edge Rusher from North Carolina Commits to Virginia Tech – The Virginian-Pilot


Virginia Tech received a commitment from rising senior edge rusher Sherrod Henderson, who chose the Hokies over Michigan State and Duke. The 6-foot-3, 210-pounder from North Carolina is rated as the 61st-best edge rusher nationally and the 20th-best prospect in his state. Henderson also holds offers from South Florida and Air Force.

Meanwhile, the Hampton Roads 7 Cities Pro-Am Basketball League kicked off at Norview High with exciting matchups. James Prescott led Jarcam to a 55-51 victory over ECG, while DeShaun Wade helped Team Brown defeat Daddy James BBQ 60-47 with 19 points. Norfolk State’s Christian “Philly” Ings contributed 18 points for Daddy James BBQ in the loss.

Other notable performances included Dani Pounds leading 1st Class RE to a 63-57 win over Built Different with 16 points. Harvey Lindsay secured a 75-62 victory over NewRunz, with Dom Stanford (19 points), Michael Christmas (18 points), and Ben Nacey (15 points) leading the way. Cyonte Melvin scored 21 points for NewRunz in the loss.
