Search underway for elderly woman from Winston-Salem with cognitive impairment


Winston-Salem Police Department is seeking the public’s help in finding a missing 70-year-old woman with a cognitive impairment. Brenda Kay Hairston was last seen on the 1600 block of Emerald Street wearing a white T-shirt with ‘Mardi gras’ on the front, pink shorts, and black and white sneakers. She is driving a cream colored 2009 Mitsubishi Galant with the North Carolina license plate, TJL-6170. The vehicle has an “NY” metal decal on the back bumper, and her destination is unknown. The N.C. Center for Missing Persons issued a Missing Endangered Alert for Hairston. Anyone with information is urged to contact the Winston-Salem Police Department.
