Starz is gearing up for its new thriller series, The Hunting Wives, with an exciting new ensemble cast. Joining the previously announced stars Malin Akerman, Brittany Snow, Dermot Mulroney, and Evan Jonigkeit are Chrissy Metz, Jaime Ray Newman, Katie Lowes, and George Ferrier. Based on May Cobb’s novel, the series follows Sophie O’Neill (Snow) as she falls under the spell of socialite Margo Bank (Akerman) in deep East Texas.
Metz will play Starr, a proud working-class woman facing off against Lowes’ character, Jill, the wife of a minister who is overly involved in her son’s life. Ferrier plays Brad, the star athlete with secrets, while Newman portrays Callie, the wife of the town’s powerful sheriff and a member of the Hunting Wives clique.
The drama series has begun production in Charlotte, North Carolina, under the guidance of showrunner Rebecca Cutter. Executive producers include Erwin Stoff and May Cobb. The show promises to deliver a thrilling and seductive story of obsession and murder in a small Texas town.
