An enthusiastic crowd gathered on Wednesday afternoon to hear former President Donald Trump speak at the Bojangles Coliseum.
This was Trump’s second rally since an assassination attempt on his life during an outdoor rally in Pennsylvania two weeks ago.
Before taking the stage, rally attendees heard from various speakers, including the President of the North Carolina House of Representatives, Tim Moore, Border Patrol Council President Brandon Judd, Congressmen Dan Bishop and Richard Hudson, RNC Chairman Michael Whatley, and former NASCAR driver Richard Childress.
In an interview, the Chair of the Mecklenburg County Republican Party, Lorena Castillo-Ritz, spoke about the energy at the event and the focus on Trump leading up to the November elections.
During his speech, Trump criticized Vice President Kamala Harris and predicted success for his own chances in North Carolina.
He called Harris incompetent and extreme left, vowing to defeat her and win North Carolina and the White House.
Trump also criticized Harris’s handling of immigration at the US-Mexico border, calling her a radical leftist.
If elected president again in November, Trump promised to reduce fuel costs, make the US energy sector dominant and independent, support law enforcement, and end the Biden-Harris administration’s “open borders” policy.
Trump expressed optimism that the American dream will thrive if he is elected for a second term.
Supporters at the rally expressed excitement and anticipation for Trump’s message of putting America first and taking care of citizens.
Overall, Trump’s rally in North Carolina showcased his continued popularity and support among his base as he prepares for the upcoming elections.
