One child died and another was injured after a bounce house was lifted into the air by a gust of wind at a baseball game in Maryland. The incident occurred at Regency Furniture Stadium in Waldorf, where the Southern Maryland Blue Crabs were playing. A 5-year-old boy was taken to the hospital with life-threatening injuries and later died, while another child sustained non-life-threatening injuries. The bounce house flew about 15 to 20 feet in the air with children inside before landing on the playing field. Emergency personnel at the stadium, as well as trainers and volunteer first responders, provided immediate medical care. Reuben B. Collins II Esq., the Charles County Government commissioner president, expressed condolences to the families of the children and thanked the emergency responders for their swift actions. This tragic event highlights the importance of safety measures when using inflatable structures, such as ensuring they are securely anchored and closely monitored for any possible hazards.
