Pelosi candidly discusses Biden’s political operations in rare move

In a recent interview with The New Yorker, Rep. Nancy Pelosi, D-Calif., expressed her disappointment with President Joe Biden’s political operation, particularly after the June debate with former President Trump. Despite her concerns, Pelosi knew that Biden’s campaign was not going to be successful, but struggled with how to tell her longtime friend. Eventually, Biden announced he would not seek reelection and endorsed Vice President Kamala Harris to run in his place against Trump in the next election.

Pelosi, who is the former House Speaker, did not provide details about her conversations with Biden or other senior Democrats post-debate, nor did she reveal whether she advised Biden to step down. She did, however, express her admiration for Biden’s negotiation skills in securing the release of 24 prisoners from Russia, which she called “remarkable” and “masterful.”

Pelosi’s main concern seems to be preventing Trump from returning to the White House in 2024. Despite her reservations about Biden’s political operation, she praised his ability to negotiate with Russia and facilitate the prisoner exchange. While she remains loyal to Biden as a friend, Pelosi’s focus is on ensuring that the Republican nominee in 2024 does not win. Biden, the oldest person to occupy the Oval Office, has promised to complete his term until January 2025.
