Ukraine successfully defends Kyiv from missile attack and strikes another Kursk bridge in ongoing Russia-Ukraine conflict

In a recent development, Ukraine has targeted and destroyed another bridge in Russia’s Kursk region, following an attack on a key bridge earlier in the week. The destruction of infrastructure is believed to be an attempt by Ukraine to disrupt Russian supply lines or reinforcements. The Ukrainian air force, led by Lt General Mykola Oleshchuk, continues to conduct accurate airstrikes to weaken the enemy’s logistical capabilities and impact the course of hostilities.

This offensive in Kursk has put pressures on Russian forces, according to the Institute for the Study of War. Russian President Vladimir Putin is expected to attempt to retake the territory, requiring more manpower and equipment from other parts of the theatre. This incursion has forced Putin to reconsider resource allocation along Ukraine’s long international border, imposing constraints on theatre-wide planning.

In response to the conflict, North Korea has condemned the US’s anti-Russian policies, warning that the global security environment is teetering on the brink of World War III. North Korea has stood with Russia against Ukraine’s actions, describing them as acts of terror backed by the West.

Meanwhile, tensions continue to escalate with a recent missile attack on Ukraine’s capital, Kyiv. The attack, using North Korean ballistic missiles, was repelled with no reported damage or casualties. The UN’s nuclear watchdog has also raised concerns about the deteriorating safety situation at Ukraine’s Zaporizhzhia nuclear power plant, further intensifying fears of a broader conflict.
