Supreme Court Justice Ketanji Brown Jackson will be speaking on a book tour about her new book.

Ketanji Brown Jackson, the first Black woman Supreme Court justice, is on a media blitz to promote her new memoir, “Lovely One,” which details her personal journey to the highest court in the land. Born to parents who instilled pride in her African heritage and taught her to never give up, Jackson describes her experiences as one of the few Black students in her classrooms, her interracial marriage, and the challenges of raising a daughter with autism.

The memoir also discusses her concerns about her children’s privacy in the spotlight of the Supreme Court and her approach to ethics controversies surrounding the court. While she has not been forthcoming about her two years on the court, she has expressed mild criticism of recent conservative opinions and has declined to comment on reforms such as 18-year term limits for justices.

Despite losing respect for the court due to recent rulings and controversies, some like retired social worker Orandra Cotton believe in Jackson’s ability to make the right decisions. She praises Jackson for her historic achievement and hopes that she will represent the Black community well on the Supreme Court. In the face of adversity, individuals like Cotton and Jackson continue to step into their greatness and pave the way for future generations.
