Vance gains momentum in Raleigh rally

Republican vice presidential nominee Sen. JD Vance, R-OH, addressed supporters at a rally in Raleigh, criticizing the Biden-Harris administration’s economic policies and vowing to revitalize the economy in a second Trump administration. Vance also highlighted the importance of North Carolina and was joined by statewide and congressional Republican candidates at the event.

During the rally, nominee for lieutenant governor Hal Weatherman discussed threats to North Carolina farmers and critical infrastructure, emphasizing the state’s reliance on agriculture. Lt. Gov. Mark Robinson was absent due to a positive COVID diagnosis.

Vance focused on economic policy, immigration, and public safety in his remarks, criticizing Harris for policy flip-flops and affordability concerns for American families. He highlighted his personal experience growing up in poverty and empathized with struggling families.

On immigration and border security, Vance echoed Trump campaign views on deporting criminal illegal aliens and criticized Harris for waiving penalties for illegal immigrants.

Reflecting on North Carolina, Vance praised the state’s passionate people, growth, and smart policies, emphasizing the need for common-sense economic and energy policies to drive economic growth.

Encouraging supporters to spread the message, Vance acknowledged the uphill battle against media and special interests, emphasizing the power of truth and people in the campaign.

The latest Carolina Journal poll shows a close race between Trump and Harris. Trump is expected to rally in Wilmington this Saturday.
