Cards Against Humanity, known for the adult party game, has sued SpaceX CEO Elon Musk for $15 million. The lawsuit claims that SpaceX employees trespassed and damaged land near the U.S.-Mexico border that the company purchased in 2017. The company had bought the land to prevent former President Donald Trump’s plans to build a border wall. SpaceX allegedly removed vegetation and placed gravel on the land for vehicle parking and work without permission.
Over 150,000 people donated $15 each to help Cards Against Humanity buy the land in 2017 as part of their “Cards Against Humanity Saves America” campaign. If they win the lawsuit, the company plans to share the net proceeds with the donors. The company created a website with information about the lawsuit and shared photos of the land before and after SpaceX allegedly damaged it.
Cards Against Humanity expressed disappointment in Musk’s actions, accusing him of “defiling” the once-green land where wild horses roamed freely. The company stated that the lawsuit would not fully compensate the donors for their suffering but is a good start. SpaceX has not responded to the lawsuit as of yet.
