An ursine creature was caught scratching itself on a sign at Denali National Park and Preserve in Alaska, much to the delight of wildlife enthusiasts. The park reminded visitors to stay a safe distance away from bears and to be mindful of altering their behavior. If encountering a bear, it is important to remain calm, identify yourself as a human, and make yourself look as large as possible. It is advised to pick up small children, not allow the bear access to food, and not drop your pack. Moving away slowly and sideways if the bear is stationary, and not running or climbing a tree are also important. If encountering a black bear, it is recommended to not play dead but instead try to escape or fight back, focusing on the bear’s face and muzzle. If attacked by a brown bear, playing dead by laying on your stomach with legs spread and hands clasped behind your head is advised. If the attack persists, it is important to fight back vigorously. It is crucial for visitors to follow park regulations and guidelines when encountering wildlife to ensure both their safety and the well-being of the animals.
