Iconic British artist Kate Bush recently revealed in an interview that she is eager to start working on a new album. Despite keeping a low profile in recent years, Bush gained a new generation of followers when her 1985 single ‘Running Up That Hill’ was featured in the hit show Stranger Things. The song even topped the UK charts following its appearance in the series.
During the interview with BBC Radio 4’s “Today”, Bush discussed a new black-and-white animated short film she directed to raise funds for the charity War Child. Titled Little Shrew, the film features her song ‘Snowflake’ from her album ‘50 Words for Snow’. Bush explained that the idea for the film came after the shock of the Ukrainian war and aimed to evoke empathy for children affected by conflict.
Although Bush has been busy with archive work and website redesign in recent years, she expressed excitement about returning to the creative space and working on new music. However, she mentioned that she is not yet ready to return to the stage.
While fans eagerly await new material from the elusive artist, let’s hope that a new album will be on the horizon soon. After her last concerts in 2014, many are hopeful that Bush will once again captivate audiences with her unique style and powerful music.
