Hollywood Star Matthew McConaughey Returns to Texas to Raise Family
In a recent interview on TODAY with Hoda & Jenna, Hollywood star Matthew McConaughey opened up about his decision to leave Los Angeles and return to his native Texas. The 54-year-old actor, who was born in Uvalde and raised in Livingston, expressed his love for the slower pace of life in Texas.
McConaughey stated that Texas has always been home to him, and he wanted to move back to give his children the same upbringing he had. He emphasized the importance of family, mentioning his 92-year-old mother and two older brothers who also reside in the state.
Now living in Austin with his wife, Camila Alves, and their three children, McConaughey described the city as “very creative” in a state that is “very structured.” He praised the city’s mantra of “Be You,” highlighting the acceptance and freedom to be oneself that he experiences there.
The actor also shared his perspective on time, mentioning that he values having a good relationship with it and appreciates the natural flow of things in Texas. He added that the common sense that pervades the state is often overlooked but deeply understood by those who live there.
