Poll shows Stein with a 17% lead over Robinson in race for NC governor

New poll results from the East Carolina University Center for Survey Research reveal that Democratic Attorney General Josh Stein is leading the race for governor in North Carolina, with a significant advantage over Lt. Gov. Mark Robinson. The poll, conducted last week, surveyed 1,005 likely voters and showed Stein with a 50%-33% lead over Robinson, with a margin of error of +/- 3%.

The poll results come in the wake of recent scandals surrounding Mark Robinson, which have shifted the dynamics of the election in favor of Stein. Analysts believe that Stein is now the clear favorite to become the next governor of North Carolina. If elected, Stein would be the first person of Jewish faith to hold the office and would follow in the footsteps of previous Democratic attorney generals who have ascended to the governorship.

Robinson, who gained fame for his viral speech to the Greensboro City Council, has seen a decline in support from Republicans, dropping from 83% to 63% in recent weeks. Meanwhile, Stein’s support has increased among both men and women voters.

Stein, who is Ivy League educated and has served as the state’s attorney general, resigned from his position in the state Senate to campaign for the governorship. With the election quickly approaching, it appears that Stein has a strong lead over his opponent and is poised to become the next governor of North Carolina.
