The prestigious Michelin Guide has unveiled its first-ever Texas edition, recognizing 15 restaurants in four major cities in the state. The guide’s International Director, Gwendal Poullennec, praised the chefs for setting a new standard for Texas culinary excellence and encouraged them to continue pushing boundaries and dreaming bigger.
Austin led the way with seven restaurants receiving Michelin stars, followed by Houston with six, and one each in Dallas and San Antonio. The guide also highlighted 45 Bib Gourmands for offering excellent food at an affordable price, 57 Recommended Restaurants for meeting high Michelin standards, and four Michelin Special Awards. In total, 117 high-quality Texas eateries were recognized.
The ceremony took place at Houston’s 713 Music Hall and brought together chefs from across the state to celebrate their achievements and the recognition Texas has received as an international culinary hub. The list of award-winning restaurants includes a diverse range of cuisines, from contemporary and American to Japanese, Spanish, and Indian.
