Collision between box truck and snake-filled RV on I-95 in Wilson County

In the early hours of Tuesday morning, a bizarre accident occurred on Interstate 95 in Wilson County involving a large box truck and an RV transporting more than two dozen snakes. The collision resulted in the box truck rear-ending the RV, which was also carrying five people, two tortoises, Bearded Dragons, dogs, and a cat. Despite the chaos of the crash, all of the animals and individuals inside the RV emerged unscathed.

The driver of the RV, who specializes in reptiles and had venomous snakes onboard, took precautionary measures to ensure the safety of the animals before emergency personnel arrived on the scene. The owner of the RV successfully secured all the snakes, including the highly venomous viper that had become loose during the crash.

The driver of the truck sustained serious injuries and was taken to the hospital for treatment. Authorities suspect that he may have fallen asleep at the wheel leading to the collision. In the aftermath of the accident, questions remain regarding potential charges against the truck driver.

This unusual and somewhat comical incident left an indelible impression on those involved, with tow truck driver Clayton Barfield expressing his discomfort with snakes and recounting the unexpected turn of events that transpired during the recovery of the vehicles. Despite the chaos, the unique situation ultimately ended without any major casualties, highlighting the resilience of both the humans and animals involved in the accident.
