Proposed Plan in Texas suggests direct transportation of migrants to ICE for deportation instead of sanctuary cities

Texas is considering implementing a new plan that would see migrants being bussed directly to U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) for deportation, as opposed to busing them to sanctuary cities as part of Operation Lone Star. The program has yet to be approved by Governor Greg Abbott. The move comes as Texas remains focused on border security and combatting illegal immigration.

Governor Abbott, who has been vocal about addressing the border crisis, has been bussing migrants to blue cities to draw attention to the issue. Under the proposed plan, Texas would charter buses from border cities to take migrants to federal detention centers to expedite the processing by ICE agents.

Texas has been engaged in legal battles with the Biden administration over its immigration policies, with a recent appeals court ruling in favor of Texas building a razor wire border wall. The state has also offered land to the incoming Trump administration to build deportation centers for illegal immigrant criminals.

Authorities in Texas have also reported encountering unaccompanied migrant children near the border, highlighting the dangers they face from criminal trafficking networks. State troopers recently found a 10-year-old boy from El Salvador who had been left behind by a human smuggler, as well as a 2-year-old girl with a phone number and her name, indicating her parents were in the U.S.

The reality of human trafficking and exploitation of migrant children has prompted calls for action to ensure their safety and security, as well as underscore the importance of border security measures in Texas.
