The prominent leader and former Chief Minister of Karnataka, SM Krishna, passed away at the age of 92 at his residence in Bengaluru on December 10. Leaders and celebrities from various fields expressed their condolences on his passing, with members of the Kannada film industry also paying heartfelt tributes to him.
Kannada superstar Dr. Shivarajkumar, senior actor Srinath, Ashwini Puneeth Rajkumar, and actress turned politicians Sumalatha Ambareesh and Ramya, among others, visited SM Krishna’s residence to pay their respects. Dr. Shivarajkumar spoke highly of Krishna’s sophistication and exemplary conduct as a politician, stating that he set a benchmark for those in prominent roles.
Sumalatha Ambareesh, a former Mandya MP and senior actress, shared a special bond with SM Krishna who hails from the same district. She described him as a statesman with a vision that shaped the state, acknowledging his disciplined life, gentlemanly demeanor, dignified conduct, and exemplary values. Other Sandalwood celebrities such as Upendra, Rishab Shetty, and Hombale Films also expressed their condolences on social media.
