The University of North Carolina rowing team kicked off their 2025 season with an impressive performance at the Cardinal Invitational, notching nine race wins over the weekend. Head coach Erin Neppel praised the strong performances across the entire program and emphasized the early season progress. The V8 and fours excelled, with the V8 posting times of 6:29.830 and 6:22.408 to secure victories over Navy, Alabama, and Louisville. The 1V4 and 2V4 also dominated their races, showcasing the team’s depth and talent.
Despite challenging weather conditions, UNC was able to compete at a high level and come out on top in multiple races. The team will now turn their focus to the Sunshine State Invitational in Sarasota, Florida at the end of March.
The lineup for the Tar Heels featured strong performances from coxswains Alix de Saint-Aignan, Cara Cunningham, and Katarina Keller, as well as rowers such as Carmen Sagues, Chloe Gaither, and Lindsey Troftgruben. The team’s success was a result of hard work and dedication in preparation for the season.
