Sanderling Resort Celebrates 40 Years with Stunning Revamp and New Culinary Offerings
DUCK, NC – The Sanderling Resort, a cherished gem located in Duck, North Carolina, has launched an extensive redesign and new features just in time for its 40th anniversary celebration. This full-service luxury resort, which boasts 12 acres between the Atlantic Ocean and Currituck Sound, now offers an enhanced experience for its guests.
All 123 guest rooms have undergone a transformation, featuring fresh interiors with layered textures, soft beach-inspired hues, and natural wood furnishings. Local flora and fauna are showcased through bespoke artwork and hand-painted mirrors, infusing a touch of the region’s biodiversity into the space.
A highlight of the reimagined resort is Theodosia, a new restaurant led by James Beard award-winning chef Vivian Howard. Named after Aaron Burr’s daughter, the restaurant offers refined Southern coastal cuisine, including specialties like slow-baked grouper and blueberry barbecue duck, enjoyed against picturesque beach views.
In addition to these culinary delights, summer visitors can partake in a range of activities, such as floral arranging workshops, mixology classes, and ghost crab hunts along the shore. Two swimming pools, including a family-friendly zero-entry pool and an adults-only Tranquility Pool, provide relaxation options for guests.
The resort’s newly opened Sunset Ballroom, featuring vaulted ceilings and a panoramic view of the Currituck Sound, enhances its event offerings, replacing an unused indoor pool, and is poised to accommodate everything from weddings to corporate retreats.
As the only full-service luxury destination in the Outer Banks, The Sanderling embodies a blend of "barefoot luxury," culinary excellence, and the natural charm of the region. Nightly rates start from $475, and reservations can be made at thesanderling.com.
