Weather Update: Stormy Saturday Anticipated, Calm Sunday Ahead
RALEIGH, N.C. (WTVD) — Residents can expect a mix of nice weather and brief storms this Saturday across North Carolina. The day will kick off with cool and sunny conditions, but meteorologists warn that a few afternoon thunderstorms may develop, with some potentially reaching strong intensity. While these storms could disrupt outdoor plans momentarily, experts suggest not canceling them entirely; heading indoors for a brief period could suffice while the storms pass.
Following the thunderstorms, drier air is forecasted to move into the northern half of the state, leading to a mostly clear Saturday night.
Looking ahead to Sunday, the weather is expected to shift to a more stable pattern with a blend of sun and clouds. An isolated thunderstorm may develop in the Sandhills region during the afternoon, but the overall probability remains low. Sunday’s temperatures are expected to reach the lower 80s, providing a pleasant day for outdoor activities.
As the month progresses, the first week of June will usher in a significant warm-up, with temperatures projected to climb closer to 90 degrees by midweek—Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday in particular are poised to feel quite summery.
