East Texas Communities Foundation Launches New Scholarship Opportunities for 2025-2026 Academic Year
East Texas— The East Texas Communities Foundation (ETCF) is now accepting scholarship applications from East Texas students for the upcoming 2025-2026 academic year. Interested students must submit their online applications by the March 1 deadline. Detailed eligibility requirements and application links can be accessed at etcf.org.
This year, ETCF has introduced seven new scholarships aimed at fostering educational advancement for diverse groups of students in the region:

Lady Denise Sanders Robertson Memorial Scholarship: Established by New Life Community Church, this scholarship honors the inspiring legacy of Lady Denise and supports African American high school graduates or non-traditional students from Smith County planning to major in fields like Theology or the Arts.

Kay Howry & Freda Harder Encouragement Scholarship: This award is for graduating seniors from Tyler High School, Early College High School, and LaPoyner High School. It honors educators Kay and Freda for their motivational impact on students.

Larry R. Smith First Responders Scholarship: Created by the Smiles Four Kids Golf Tournament committee, this scholarship aids students pursuing careers in public safety.

Eiche Family Scholarship: This renewable scholarship supports seniors from Smith County who wish to attend any college or university in 32 East Texas counties.

St. Paul Presbyterian Legacy Scholarship: Established by the Grace Presbytery, it supports local students influenced by the former St. Paul Presbyterian Church.

Tabbotha McGee Memorial Scholarship: This scholarship honors Tabbotha McGee and is for Tyler ISD students who plan to pursue an LVN at Tyler Junior College, particularly benefiting athletes and HOSA participants.
- Nancy A. Berkhouse Classical Art Scholarship: Aimed at current college students pursuing degrees in classical arts, it favors those exploring traditional painting styles.
