Xavier Partee Shines at NCAA Track Championships
EUGENE, Ore. – North Carolina A&T sophomore Xavier Partee showcased his talent at the 2025 NCAA Division I Outdoor Track and Field Championships, finishing 17th nationally in the men’s triple jump at the esteemed Hayward Field. Competing only in his second year, Partee’s performance reflects the upward trajectory of the A&T track program.
On Friday, Partee recorded a jump of 50 feet, 2¾ inches in his first attempt and capped the evening with a personal best of 50 feet, 3¼ inches. This impressive feat not only secured him a spot among the top competitors but also earned him honorable mention All-American honors from the U.S. Track and Field Cross Coaches Association (USTFCCCA).
Partee’s journey began earlier this year, where he won the Coastal Athletic Association (CAA) indoor title with a 50-foot, 10-inch jump. Subsequently, he continued to excel outdoors, achieving a personal record of 52 feet, 4¾ inches at the East Preliminary Round, steering him to this national stage.
Teammate Ty’Heak Buie, a freshman, also made waves this season, jumping 52 feet, 4 inches at the Aggie Invitational. Though Buie faced an injury before the regional round, both athletes demonstrated the potential for the A&T track team to excel in future competitions.
Partee credited his achievements to discipline, consistency, and the support from his teammates, coaches, and family. Now that he has witnessed the national competition, he aims to improve and build upon this experience.
The Aggies are set to compete again, with junior athletes Spirit Morgan and Olivia Dowd participating in the women’s high jump and triple jump on Saturday, concluding their presence at the NCAA championships.
