Despite speculation, Belichick has clarified that Hudson will not be involved in football operations at UNC, a stance Lombardi fully supports. He reiterated that their focus is on upcoming games, particularly the season opener against TCU on September 1.
"We didn’t have any reason to circle the wagons," Lombardi said, highlighting that their energy is directed toward their training and improving the team rather than engaging with media noise. The Tar Heels are reportedly experiencing a strong recruiting season, and Lombardi is determined to keep that momentum going. Lombardi concluded on a lighter note, saying that those creating stories about the relationship could consider writing novels instead.
