Chloe Humphrey Wins Honda Sport Award for Lacrosse

CHAPEL HILL, N.C. – In a remarkable achievement, University of North Carolina women’s lacrosse standout Chloe Humphrey has been awarded the prestigious Honda Sport Award for Lacrosse, as announced by Chris Voelz, Executive Director of The Collegiate Women Sports Awards (CWSA). This recognition comes on the heels of her accolades, including the Tewaaraton Award and IWLCA Player of the Year.

Expressing gratitude, Humphrey stated, "I am forever indebted to my parents who tirelessly supported my passion… I am so incredibly grateful for all of you." The freshman from Darien, Conn., has made waves in her inaugural collegiate season, breaking the NCAA freshman record with 90 goals and achieving a total of 118 points, propelling the Tar Heels to their fourth National Championship.

UNC Head Coach Jenny Levy praised Humphrey’s contributions, noting, "Chloe is an incredibly hard worker, an excellent teammate, and a real competitor… She was pivotal to our team’s success this season." Humphrey’s remarkable season also earned her a first-team All-American designation, alongside first-team All-ACC honors, and accolades as the ACC Tournament MVP and NCAA Tournament Most Outstanding Player, with hat tricks in 18 of 22 games.

The Honda Sport Award, presented annually for 49 years, recognizes the top female athletes across 12 NCAA-sanctioned sports, signifying "the best of the best" in collegiate athletics. Award decisions are made by administrators from over 1,000 NCAA member schools. As a Honda Sport Award winner, Humphrey becomes a finalist for the esteemed Collegiate Woman Athlete of the Year and the 2025 Honda Cup, which will be awarded live on CBS Sports Network on June 30.
