Press Release: Legal Fallout from Shooting at Raleigh’s Star Bar
Raleigh, NC – The Star Bar nightclub is facing significant legal challenges following a shooting incident that occurred early on April 13, 2025. The North Carolina Alcohol Law Enforcement (ALE) has suspended the establishment’s alcohol licenses in response to the violence and regulatory violations associated with the incident.
The shooting took place around 4 a.m. outside the venue on Trawick Road, reportedly targeting rapper OMB Peezy’s vehicle, which sustained damage. Fortunately, no injuries were reported. However, the event has sparked serious concerns regarding safety and the nightclub’s compliance with alcohol regulations.
In the aftermath, multiple arrests were made. Chiantie Meheta Glover, 42, was charged with selling alcohol outside permitted hours and allowing disorderly conduct. Omar Dashajuan Knight, 38, faces felony obstruction of justice and is accused of ignoring unlawful activities on premises. Tyree Bridges, 28, has an active warrant related to serving as an unlicensed armed security guard. Additionally, LaQuan Malachi Carter, 33, and Briauna Amari Isler, 25, are under investigation with pending warrants. Darius Semaj McDougald, 34, has also been arrested for similar charges regarding alcohol consumption past permitted hours.
Star Bar’s history of violence complicates its current situation; previous incidents include a shooting in August 2024 that left two injured and a liquor license suspension in 2020 due to multiple violent altercations. Given this troubled history, the nightclub has been closely monitored by ALE, which indicates that additional charges may arise as the investigation continues.
Authorities urge the community to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activities to prevent further violence. The outcome of these legal proceedings could have lasting implications for the future of Star Bar.
