VILLANOVA, Pa. – The Premier Lacrosse League (PLL) showcased an exciting weekend in its 2025 campaign, with four standout North Carolina men’s lacrosse alumni making their mark at Villanova Stadium just outside Philadelphia.
On June 13, the Boston Cannons faced off against the Philadelphia Waterdogs. Marcus Holman contributed significantly to the Cannons’ efforts with two points, making a notable one-point goal and delivering an assist. Despite Holman’s performance, the Cannons fell to a 2-1 record for the season. Zac Tucci also excelled at the faceoff X, winning 13 faceoffs and scooping up seven ground balls.
In another matchup on the same day, the Utah Archers battled the California Redwoods, where North Carolina alum Connor Maher left his mark as a defensive midfielder. Maher secured a critical ground ball in the Archers’ victory, further solidifying their campaign success.
The following day, June 14, Justin Anderson, also a North Carolina product, earned a starting position for the Denver Outlaws as they clashed against the Philadelphia Waterdogs. The Outlaws emerged victorious with a 9-7 scoreline, showcasing Anderson’s contributions to the team’s overall strategy.
