Trump: FBI’s Dan Bongino ‘in Good Shape’ Amid Jeffrey Epstein Controversy

The Justice Department recently released a memo regarding Jeffrey Epstein, stating there is no evidence of a “client list,” despite previous comments from Attorney General Pam Bondi suggesting otherwise. President Donald Trump defended Deputy FBI Director Dan Bongino amid the fallout from this announcement, confirming he spoke with him and that Bongino is “in good shape.” Bongino’s future with the FBI was uncertain after disagreements with Bondi concerning Epstein’s case files.

Criticism has arisen from conservative circles towards Bondi and FBI Director Kash Patel, particularly after previous assurances from Bondi about revealing significant material related to Epstein, including names and flight logs. During a White House meeting on July 8, Bondi claimed a file related to the client list was on her desk for review, which further fueled discontent among Trump’s supporters.

Trump’s grassroots base expressed frustration with Bondi, with some criticizing her remarks on Fox News. On July 13, Trump, present at the FIFA Club World Cup, reiterated his defense of Bondi and called for the FBI to focus on other investigations, suggesting they were being distracted by “Radical Left” influences regarding Epstein.

Bongino, who left his podcast to join the Trump administration as a deputy director, has not publicly commented on his position. Meanwhile, Patel indicated his intention to remain in his role. The situation highlights ongoing tensions within the administration and among Trump’s supporters concerning the handling of Epstein’s case.

The release of the memo and the surrounding controversy have led to a division within MAGA circles, prompting Trump to urge his supporters to move past the issue.
